Mission, Vision, and Principles

Our Mission

"To provide for children, youth, women, and families in vulnerable situations in the community, strengthening their opportunities and well-being by promoting adequate nutrition, expanding educational opportunities, and building relationships and spaces based on equality.
We seek not only to respond to concrete needs but also to strengthen people's capacities so they can make decisions, develop their potential, and build a future with greater opportunities and autonomy."

Our Vision

"A future where the children, youth, women, and families of Las Rosas can grow, learn, and make decisions about their own lives, with equal opportunities, dignity, and the confidence to build their own path."
Institutional Philosophy

"Asociación Caras Alegres is a non-profit, non-political civil organization committed to promoting human rights, social inclusion, and community development. The organization works without discrimination based on sex, gender, age, ethnic origin, religious belief, or political ideology. All our actions are carried out autonomously and responsibly, in compliance with the current legal framework in Guatemala, promoting values of respect, equity, solidarity, and community participation."

Independence:
We firmly defend our institutional autonomy and independence in decision-making to always prioritize the real needs of the community, acting with ethics, transparency, and social responsibility.

Professionalism:
We believe that social commitment must be accompanied by training, responsibility, technical knowledge, continuous education, and effective methodologies. Strengthening our team, volunteers, and collaborators contributes to improving the quality of our programs.

Will for Change and Social Transformation:
We seek to generate real, deep, and sustainable changes. Our work is not limited to solving immediate needs; it seeks to develop capacities, strengthen empowerment and the community fabric, promoting long-term opportunities.
